First, I want to sincerely thank you for being a Massago supporter. As an early adopter, you’ve helped us build a trusted Canadian brand in an industry where trust is everything.

Allan SkokAnd your feedback (which is always frank, but not always positive) helps us take the pulse of things, which is essential to us. It enables us to make continuous adjustments to our app and service so that we remain your first choice for on-demand massage therapy.

We also monitor how our therapists are doing to ensure Massago remains a positive and worthwhile endeavour for them.

So here’s where all that listening and adjusting has brought us …

New lower price

We’re pleased to announce that we are lowering the price on all massage services to $99, starting today. While we will continue to offer the same premium service in the comfort of your home or office, we know that we need to say competitive in order to succeed. Our new pricing is on par with what you would pay at a typical clinic or spa.

Here’s an exception: In busy urban areas like downtown Toronto, where longer commute times and parking hassles make it more difficult for our therapists to get to you, we will continue to charge the price you’re paying now.

No more automatic tipping

Our intentions were good. We wanted to take cash out of the equation completely, and avoid any awkward moments after your service. But a mandatory 15% gratuity has been a contentious issue with many of our clients. (And in some cases, clients wanted to tip higher than 15%.) So we went back to the app and made an adjustment.

Now at the end of your appointment, the app will ask you to choose the tip amount – 15%, 18%, 20%… or any other amount you think is fair.

New surge pricing

As you may have noticed, we do experience busy times when demand exceeds supply. (The benefits binge nearing the end of the year comes to mind.) We continue to onboard new therapists in an effort to better meet the need. To help further alleviate the pressures of increased demand, we will also be introducing surge pricing.

While same-day requests are by far the most popular, we encourage you to schedule your massage appointments in advance whenever possible to get the times you want and avoid paying the higher price. Remember that you can book up to 30 days in advance.

We’ve worked hard to ensure that Massago continues to be a win/win for our clients and therapists. That’s been our goal from the start. We think our latest changes keep things fair and balanced, and we hope you agree.
