07 Jan Alberta updates to COVID restrictions
Massage therapy allowed in Alberta with either a prescription or referral.
In a statement made on December 22nd, Health Minister Tyler Shandro recognized the importance of Massage Therapy for acute and chronic pain. The Chief Medical Officer of Health and the Province of Alberta have worked in concert to adjust the current restrictions and grant an exemption to allow massage therapy services for patients or clients with either a prescription from a physician or a referral from another regulated health professional (e.g. Chiropractor or Physiotherapist).
Increased safety protocols and sanitation procedures must be followed at all times laid out in the COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Manual for Massage Therapists in Alberta which can be referenced here.
